On the car journey up into the hills south of Kibuye towards Bisesero, the views are stunning.  The trip to Bisesero normally takes 90 minutes to travel the 30 km.  4X4s are advised.

People who do not know this region can imagine what it looks like if they know the Lake District in the north west of England.  The slopes and the lakes are the same except there is substantial vegetation on the hills, and the climate is drier.

Where are the ones we want to see?  Mobiles were produced in an attempt to find Narcisse and Gakoko.

Maria Jones, a trustee of RDT, is seen here with those who have the keys to the memorial houses.

The RDT group and Gakoko (with hat), one of the 'Keepers'.  Narcisse had taken the day off (again).

Sunset over Lake Kivu - from Bisesero.
